For the past 3 years, the Kiwanis Club of St. Augustine has held the Character Breakfast community service/fundraising opportunity. This fun event has seen an array of Spidermen, Princesses, Elmos, Super Heroes, Ninja Turtles and an assortment of other characters dancing, engaged in fishing for books, making tiaras, pirate hats and super hero capes and much more!!!
It would be hard to say who had the most fun — the High School and Middle School students who dressed up as the characters or the children who participated or the parents and grandparents who enjoyed many memorable moments with their family!
Due to the COVID conditions, our Kiwanis club’s programs, events and school Service Leadership Programs for 2021 will certainly look and feel different. But now, more than ever, our world needs volunteer efforts to help the neediest of our communities and develop young leaders. We want to maintain and modify our current programs to insure the health and safety of the participants. We will continue to sponsor Kiwanis School Service Leadership Programs in 8 county schools, provide programs and books to preschool children in day care centers throughout the county, and participate in community family programs.
